Process Steward / Sanitation Technician, Production

BIOVECTRA, now part of Agilent, is a leader in contract development and manufacturing of active pharmaceutical ingredients. In this role, you will be responsible for executing routine cleaning and sanitation of production operation lines within a biologics manufacturing facility.

Shift & Schedule

Swing shift 12 hours – days (7am to 7pm) for weeks1 and2, 12 hours – nights (7pm to 7am) for weeks3 and4; ongoing rotational shift.

Key Responsibilities

- Sanitizing and cleaning an industrial clean room environment where pharmaceuticals are manufactured, including duct work, manufacturing equipment, floors, walls, and outdoor areas.
- Operating manual and automated equipment.
- Handling hazardous materials, including acids, bases, solvents, potent compounds, and APIs, safely and properly.
- Performing process sampling.
- Collaborating with other departments on process and equipment training for successful completion of manufacturing batches.
- Providing feedback to influence continuous improvements during the review and revision of Standard Operating Procedures and other process documentation.
- Participating in BIOVECTRA’s quality management system, focusing on batch production records, work instructions, adherence to policies and SOPs at all times.
- Assisting with housekeeping, equipment cleaning, general warehousing, material staging and tanker operations as required.




- Wearing PPE while performing duties.

Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 0 to 2+ years of experience preferred.
- Post-secondary education with a diploma in an applicable area of study is an asset.
- Industrial experience in a pharmaceutical or food manufacturing FDA-regulated environment is a major asset.
- WHMIS certification and First Aid certification are major assets.
- Valuable Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) experience is an asset.
- Ability to follow strict standard operating procedures and excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to accurately weigh and measure chemical materials for pharmaceutical production.
- Ability to work and communicate effectively in a dynamic team environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communicator, both written and oral.

Compensation

Full-time weekly schedule. Pay range $17.10 - $29.93 per hour CAD, plus eligibility for bonus, stock, and benefits.
