Overview

(Field-based leadership role) We’re looking for a field-based leader with a sales mindset to help grow our Gardening Department through quality oversight, crew training, and proactive enhancement sales. This role is ideal for someone who understands gardening work, can train and hold employees accountable, and enjoys talking with clients, and can confidently turn on-site observations into approved enhancement jobs. The focus is on client interaction, revenue growth through enhancements, and maintaining high service standards in the field.

Responsibilities

- Kickstart crews each morning and support them throughout the day.
- Be present in the field, supporting crews and maintaining high service quality. Willing to jump into field when needed.
- Visit sites to ensure work meets quality standards and company expectations.
- Train and coach gardening staff on standards, efficiency, and presentation.
- Assist with in-person onboarding support: new staff orientation, training, t-shirts, and documentation (office staff handle paperwork).
- Check in with crew members and support ongoing skill development.
- Identify and confidently suggest enhancement opportunities (plant replacements, pruning, mulch, cleanups, upgrades, seasonal work) to Operations or Sales.
- Discuss small enhancement jobs with clients when appropriate and flag opportunities for follow-up.
- Explain scope, benefits, and next steps for enhancement work; secure approval for small jobs or hand off larger opportunities to Sales/Operations.
- Serve as a trusted point of contact for clients during site visits; respond to and help resolve customer concerns professionally,



with a relationship-first approach.
- Collaborate with Sales and Operations to turn observations into booked work.
- Help implement LEAN processes to improve efficiency, consistency, and upsell flow.
- Submit receipts and handle light admin tasks (no crew scheduling).
- Act as a bridge between the Operations Manager (office) and the field team.

What You Bring

- Strong background in gardening, landscaping, or horticulture.
- Comfortable selling services through conversation, not pressure.
- Confident discussing pricing, scope, and value with clients.
- Proven ability to spot opportunities and close small jobs on the spot.
- Clear, professional communication skills (in person and written).
- Strong leadership, organization, and follow-through.
- Ability to build trust quickly with clients and crews.
- Safety-minded, proactive, and takes initiative without micromanagement.
- Humble, hardworking, and enjoys helping others improve.
- Physically fit (able to lift up to 60 lbs).
- Valid driver’s license.

Qualifications & Experience

- Bonus: landscaping or horticulture certification.
- First Aid / CPR certification (Nice to Have).
- Experience with LMN software (Nice to Have).
