HireLoft Recruitment is working with a quick-growing, multi-entity organization on a confidential search for a Group Financial Controller. This is a technically demanding, high-visibility role sitting at the centre of the group's financial reporting function, reporting directly to the VP Finance.This is not a generalist finance role and it is not a people management role. We are looking for a technically sharp, self-driven CPA who can pick up the mandate and run with it independently from day one. If you get excited about solving complex accounting problems, maximizing consolidation systems, and building the financial infrastructure of a company preparing for a public listing, this role was built for you.About the OrganizationA well-capitalized and rapidly growing company operating across 30+ entities and multiple business verticals. The organization is executing an active acquisition strategy and is building toward a future public listing. The finance team is approximately 25 people strong and continuing to grow as the business scales.What You Will Be DoingFinancial Reporting and ConsolidationLead monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidation across 30+ legal entities under IFRSOwn intercompany eliminations, reconciliations, and consolidation adjustmentsEnsure accurate and timely preparation of IFRS-compliant consolidated financial statementsContinuously improve close processes, reduce timelines,
and drive automationTechnical AccountingAct as the internal IFRS subject matter expert across complex areas including:IFRS 3 business combinations and purchase price allocationsIFRS 16 lease accountingShare option valuations and amortizationRevenue recognitionDevelop and maintain accounting policy notes and financial statement disclosuresPrepare and maintain audit-ready working papersIPO and Capital Markets ReadinessSupport development of public-company-ready financial reporting standards, policies, and documentationAssist in building the foundation for future public filings including MD&A and consolidated financial statementsManage and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting in preparation for public market standardsSupport SEDAR filing requirements and regulatory compliance as the organization moves toward a public listingAudit and External StakeholdersOwn the full external audit process from planning through to completionServe as the primary liaison with external auditors, tax advisors, and consultantsM&A IntegrationSupport financial integration of newly acquired businesses including opening balance sheet alignment and accounting policy harmonizationLead integration of acquired entities into consolidation systems and reporting frameworksStandardize accounting policies across acquired entitiesSystems and TechnologyPrimary consolidation and FP&A tool: Vena,
linking Microsoft D365 Business Central and Sage IntacctAbility to maximize Vena and unlock additional reporting capabilities beyond consolidation is a significant assetComfort with data, minor SQL, or coding logic is a plusWho We Are Looking ForBig 4 public accounting background (strongly preferred)8 to 12+ years of progressive experience in financial reporting and consolidationDeep technical knowledge of IFRS across complex accounting areasProven experience managing group-level multi-entity consolidationsIPO readiness, SEDAR filing experience, or public company reporting background is a major differentiatorExperience in a high-growth, acquisitive, or private equity-backed environment is a strong assetHands-on experience with consolidation tools such as Vena, HFM, or similar platformsSelf-motivated, independent, and confident operating without direct oversightSomeone who gets genuinely excited about systems, technical problems, and building things the right wayWhat Is In It For YouBase salary of $140,000 to $160,000 depending on experiencePerformance bonus of up to 20%High-visibility role reporting directly to VP Finance with exposure to executive leadershipActive involvement in M&A execution and integrationDirect exposure to IPO preparation and a real capital markets journeyOpportunity to build and scale a best-in-class group finance functionThis role is ideal for someone who wants to own something meaningful, go deep in their area of expertise, and be the go-to person for everything related to group financial reporting and compliance.#J-18808-Ljbffr
