Groundman (Bruce Mines, ON)

The Materials Group is looking for a reliable Groundman at our Ontario Trap Rock, Bruce Mines Quarry. This is an important support role in the day-to-day operations of the quarry by assisting with general labour, equipment operation, site housekeeping, and minor maintenance tasks.

Schedule: Night Shift (6:00PM to 6:00AM) Monday to Friday

Location: Bruce Mines, ON

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: · Performing manual labour that includes but not limited to shoveling, cleaning catwalks and washing using a fire hose

· Operating a skid steer, manlift, rock truck etc.

· Willing of learning to operate other support equipment and other aspects of our quarry operations

· Performing small repairs / be mechanically inclined

· Ensuring the plant and parts storage areas are adequately kept clean, maintained and organized

· Working alongside others, ensuring they are complying with the OHSA, company policies and procedures

· Ensuring valuable housekeeping including keeping the screen decks, tool trailer and MCC buildings clean, organized and free of tripping hazards on the floor

· Other duties as assigned by supervisors

REQUIREMENTS:



· Have a valid driver’s licence

· Available to work some weekends if required

· Must be a robust team player, and productive working alone

· Work well in stressful situations, and make timely, sound decisions
