Track materials allocated to specific projects and maintain accurate records.
Compare material pricing regularly and source competitive suppliers to maximize value.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and internal project managers.
Schedule and coordinate material deliveries to ensure projects remain on schedule.
Monitor inventory levels and conduct regular stock checks.
Follow up on backordered or delayed materials and communicate updates to project teams.
Identify cost-saving opportunities in purchasing and logistics.
Ensure all materials meet project specifications and quality standards.
Maintain accurate material tracking using company software and spreadsheets.
Prepare regular reports on material costs, usage, inventory, and supplier performance.
Resolve discrepancies between purchase orders, deliveries, and invoices.
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and material handling procedures.
Qualifications
Previous experience in purchasing,
procurement, inventory control, or construction materials coordination is an asset.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Experience with construction management or inventory software is an asset.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of residential and commercial construction materials is preferred.
