The Association of Justice Counsel invites applications for a Bilingual Legal Counsel position. Support equity and representation in this hybrid role focusing on labour relations. As a Bilingual Legal Counsel, you will be instrumental in providing legal support to AJC members by interpreting and enforcing collective agreements.
Your role will involve legal research, drafting necessary documents, and representing the AJC in formal and informal proceedings. This position requires a commitment to enhancing the working conditions of public service lawyers within a agile team framework. Key Responsibilities:
Draft legal submissions and notices for AJC cases
Participate in national labour-management committees
Represent AJC before the Federal Public Sector Labour Relations and Employment Board
Advise on essential service agreements
Handle member exclusions from the bargaining unit Requirements:
Licensed lawyer in Ontario or another province
At least 3 years in federal labour relations
Knowledge of union representation requirements
Bilingual proficiency in French and English
Effective teamwork and prioritization skills Take the prospect to advocate for the rights of lawyers in the federal public service at AJC.
