Role Description The Legal Assistant role at PPD LAW OFFICE is a full-time, in office position based in Brandon, MB.
The Legal
Assistant will support lawyers with preparing, formatting, and organizing legal documents, including correspondence, agreements, and court forms. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing files, scheduling appointments and court dates, maintaining case calendars, and organizing client records. The role also involves communicating with clients, courts, and other legal professionals, handling phone and email inquiries, and assisting with billing and data entry.
The Legal
Assistant is expected to maintain confidentiality, ensure accuracy in all documentation, and contribute to an efficient, skilled office environment.
Qualifications
Foundational knowledge of law and legal procedures, with the ability to understand and follow legal instructions.

Proficiency in administrative assistance tasks such as scheduling, file management, data entry, and office organization.
Experience working as a Legal Assistant or in a similar legal support role, with familiarity with law office practices.
Competence with standard office software and legal practice management tools (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, email, case management systems).
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
Diploma or certification in Legal Assistant, Paralegal Studies, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
