Role Description This full-time, on-site Transportation and Warehouse Supervisor role is based in Edmonton, AB. The supervisor oversees daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and shipping goods, while ensuring accurate inventory control and productive material handling. Responsibilities include coordinating transportation schedules, supervising loading and unloading activities, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The role involves leading and mentoring warehouse staff, monitoring performance, resolving operational issues, and optimizing workflows to meet service and delivery requirements. The supervisor collaborates with internal teams and external partners to maintain timely, cost-effective, and dependable distribution services.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Supervisory Skills, including team leadership,
performance management, and workflow coordination.
- Candidates should possess Shipping & Receiving and Material Handling experience for managing incoming and outgoing freight and product movement.
- Candidates should possess Inventory Control skills to maintain accurate stock levels, conduct cycle counts, and manage documentation.
- Candidates should possess Forklift Operation skills and familiarity with warehouse equipment, following all safety protocols.
- Additional beneficial qualifications include experience in food or medical supply distribution, knowledge of transportation logistics, and familiarity with warehouse management systems.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities, along with the capacity to work in a fast-paced, physically active environment, are preferred.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; post-secondary education in logistics, supply chain, or a related field is considered an asset.
- Must have Class 1 Driving experience
- Must be able to multi-task
- Must be able to handle stressful situations
- Must be willing to take and make swift cost effective decisions
- Must be able to Manage Owner Operators and Company Drivers
- Must be able to and willing to run a FTL division as well as final Mile
