As an Engineer or Project Manager in Linear Underground Infrastructure, you’ll provide project management and engineering support in order to ensure reliable, economical and effective/efficient City-wide engineering services. This will include providing technical review and support for planning, design and operation of the Division's programs and projects. Design and Construction – Linear Underground Infrastructure Staff in the Trunk Sewers and Transmission Mains Unit provide project management, contract administration, and technical expertise in the planning, design and construction of linear capital works projects. More specifically, this includes using open cut and trenchless pipe installation and rehabilitation methods, using knowledge of constructor Health and Safety issues and constructability for smooth completion of complex construction within the City’s Right-of-Way, parks,



trails and ravines to maintain the City’s infrastructure in a state of valuable repair and meet servicing needs of population and employment growth. Staff in the Standalone Undergrounds Unit provide project management, contract administration, technical and engineering expertise in the planning, design and construction of linear capital works projects. Among these projects are the installation and rehabilitation of watermains, the construction of sanitary and storm sewers and the delivery of roadway enhancement projects including green linear infrastructure and cycling infrastructure. Staff in the Basement Flooding Protection Program Unit provide project management and engineering expertise in the delivery of capital infrastructure projects. These will include environmental assessments, sewer capacity assessments, preliminary and detailed design assignments, and construction of sewers and watermain improvements, outfalls, sanitary and stormwater storage, and roadway improvements. Full project management accountabilities Leading by example, as a City of Toronto Project Manager, you’ll manage a variety of assigned engineering and construction projects, leading project teams to meet deadlines and ensuring effective teamwork and communication, high standards of work quality and organizational performance, continuous learning and maintenance of related data, while seeing to it that expenditures are controlled within budget.
