Journeyman Electrician The Journeyman Electrician interprets drawings, sketches and specifications to produce or repair various parts and equipment, as well as undertakes the set-up and general maintenance of electrical systems. The Journeyman Electrician uses various equipment, machinery and hand tool to achieve the final product.
This position is an Edmonton based position with a 14 on 14 off rotation at Suncor Baseplant.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Plan layout and illustration of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes
Perform in office service calls to support our equipment at customer facilities both local and out of town
Read and Interpret drawings, blueprints, and schematics for electrical equipment
Provide preliminary sketches and cost estimates for materials and services
Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, to ensure compliance with codes
Troubleshoot equipment
Mentor Apprentice Electricians
Perform cable pulling and wire installations and terminations
Perform routine housekeeping duties on site and service truck for cleanup/maintenance
Keep an accurate account for project assembly hours and materials
Qualifications
Journeyman certification or Red Seal
Industrial and commercial experience is an asset
Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence and clean driver’s abstract
Robust interpersonal skills
AWP experience (Preferred)
Overhead crane experience (Preferred)
Forklift, Manlift and Scissor lift experience
