Role Description The Health Care Aide role at Sushrusha Hospital is a part-time, in office position located in Calgary, AB.

The Health Care

Aide supports patients with personal care, including assistance with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility. Day-to-day responsibilities include helping patients with activities of daily living, monitoring and reporting changes in patient condition to nursing staff, and ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable environment. The role also involves providing companionship,



supporting patients with meals and hydration, and following care plans and hospital protocols.

The Health Care

Aide works collaboratively with nurses and other healthcare specialists to promote dignity, respect, and high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

Ability to provide high-quality Patient Care and Personal Care, including support with Activities of Daily Living.

Experience or training in Home Care settings, with a focus on safety, infection control, and comfort.

Solid Communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams.

Completion of a recognized Health Care Aide or Nursing Assistant certificate program (or equivalent) preferred.

Current CPR/First Aid certification and familiarity with basic medical terminology.

Demonstrated reliability, empathy, cultural sensitivity, and a respectful, non-judgmental approach to patient support.

Ability to work rotating shifts, stand and walk for extended periods, and safely assist with patient transfers and mobility.

Previous experience in hospital, long-term care, or community care environments is an asset.
