The City of Vernon is looking for a passionate FireSmart Wildfire Mitigation Specialist to enhance community resilience against wildfires. This role combines risk assessment and hands-on public education to mitigate wildfire hazards. Reporting to the FireSmart Coordinator, you'll focus on assessing wildfire risks and implementing community-specific programming.

Engage residents through educational events while providing tailored advice for hazard reduction on their properties. Your expertise will play a vital role in promoting the FireSmart initiative throughout the community. Key Responsibilities:
Schedule and execute assessments for wildfire mitigation
Facilitate public education sessions on FireSmart principles




Deliver hazard reduction recommendations to homeowners
Implement FireSmart initiatives based on community needs
Guide residents in executing FireSmart activities Requirements:
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (LFR)
Designation as a Wildfire Mitigation Specialist
Canada Criminal Record Check pass
Familiarity with emergency management and risk assessment
