Area Managers will lead efforts across multi-disciplined teams to execute the overall strategy and build plans, being directly responsible for all work assigned and performed in their area. They will manage and provide oversight into safety, quality, cost, and schedule by working cross functionally with other departments driving output for business objectives.
Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with all Company Environmental, Health and Safety policies and identify or suggest changes to promote safety awareness.
Manage and deconflict all production activities in assigned areas to maximize schedule performance
Analyze risks to production schedule in area and action accordingly, including but not limited to; material, resources, conflicting activities, scope change, etc.
Work closely with outside support departments to effectively manage schedule performance and identified risks
Work closely with trades teams, subcontractors, planning,
and production control to outline execution plan of area based on schedule
Proactively remove barriers to ensure continuity in production and escalate items as required.
Provide 5S leadership for their designated areas.
Qualifications
5+ years in a relevant manufacturing or shipbuilding leadership role
Project Management/Supervisory experience is an asset
Software experience (i.e. Microsoft, Aveva, P6, UPV) considered an asset.
Post-secondary degree/ diploma with relevant experience.
Red seal with relevant experience.
Project Management (PMP) considered an asset.
Relevant trade/engineering certification (e.g. NACE, SWB, etc.) considered an asset
Certification in a Continuous Improvement processes (i.e. Six Sigma) would be an asset
