Elevate safety protocols at the University of Regina as a Graduate Student Safety Lead (casual). You'll support health and safety initiatives in engineering labs while gaining valuable experience. Reporting to the Health & Safety Services Coordinator, this casual role in the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science involves key responsibilities across chemical compliance, safety training, and laboratory safety.
You will collaborate with faculty, students, and research staff to ensure a safe working workplace and proper safety management systems. Key Responsibilities:
Lead the implementation of health and safety policies
Conduct risk assessments and develop safe operating procedures
Assist with emergency equipment checks and maintenance
Provide safety training and advice to students and faculty
Support the labeling and disposal of hazardous materials Requirements:
Current graduate student in Engineering or Applied Science
Undergraduate degree in Science or Engineering required
Previous laboratory experience preferred
Robust communication and organizational skills
Knowledge of safety programs in post-secondary environments Ensure a secure, compliant research atmosphere while enhancing your own safety management skills at the University of Regina.
