Louis Lafrance et Fils Ltd. is a federally inspected meat processing company located in Shawinigan, Quebec. We are looking for reliable and motivated employees to join our production team.
Main Responsibilities
Cut, trim, debone and prepare beef, veal, lamb and other meats according to company specifications.
Handle carcasses and primal cuts using knives, saws and other meat processing equipment.
Assist in slaughter, meat preparation, packaging and production activities.
Sort, weigh, label and package meat products for customers and distribution.
Maintain product quality while respecting food safety, sanitation and animal welfare standards.
Follow HACCP, CFIA and workplace health and safety procedures.
Clean and sanitize equipment, tools and work areas.
Assist other production employees as required.
Work efficiently in a refrigerated production setting.
Perform other related duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
Experience in meat processing, meat cutting or food manufacturing is an asset but not required.
Training will be provided to suitable candidates.
Ability to work in a refrigerated environment.
Ability to safely use, or learn to use, knives and meat processing equipment.
Ability to lift up to 25 kg (55 lbs).
Positive manual dexterity and attention to detail.
Ability to work efficiently in a quick-paced production environment.
Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team.
Commitment to food safety, sanitation and workplace health and safety procedures.
Basic English or French communication skills are considered an asset.
Pay: $17.00-$21.00 per hour
