Overview:

Construction labourers are responsible for complete a variety of tasks; this includes lifting, shoveling, digging locates, raking gravel, operating jack hammers, moving barricades, and running plate tampers.

Duties/Tasks:
Responsible for checking equipment and informing mechanics and supervisors of mechanical problems with the equipment;
Identifying hazards on site;
Learning general construction practices involving road construction;
Understand the issues involving ground disturbance and work in / implement safe work practices; and
Contribute to a safe work environment.

Knowledge/Skills Required:
Must have a valid driver’s license - Class 5.
Must be physically able to perform all physical actions pertinent to the tools and equipment operated.
Must be willing to learn and take direction.
Must be able to communicate well with co-workers.
Must be able to work under pressure in some situations.




Must be able to meet all safety requirements and applicable safety policies.
Must be willing to work overtime as required.

Working Conditions:
Travel between local job sites as required
Overtime, evenings and weekends as required
Work outdoors in a dusty and noisy construction setting, potentially in adverse weather conditions
Potential to drive company vehicles or equipment
Must meet and adhere to all safety requirements and applicable safety policies, including pre-employment drug, alcohol, and medical testing
