Fire Extinguisher Technician / Alarm Helper Full time
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Fire Protection Technician / Alarm Helper to join our team. This role is ideal for someone interested in building a career in the fire protection and life safety industry. The successful candidate will assist with fire alarm systems, fire extinguisher inspections and servicing, and support a variety of fire protection-related tasks.
This is a hands-on role that requires adaptability and a willingness to contribute across multiple areas of the business.
Responsibilities
Assist with installation, inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems
Support senior technicians on fire alarm projects and service calls
Perform fire extinguisher inspections, maintenance, and servicing (both in office and in-shop)
Assist with general fire protection system inspections and compliance checks
Maintain accurate documentation and service records
Ensure all work complies with applicable fire codes, safety standards,
and company procedures
Provide general support across departments as needed
Qualifications & Skills
Interest in fire protection systems, alarm systems, or life safety industry
Previous experience in fire protection, electrical work, or a related field is an asset
Enrollment in or completion of an electrical apprenticeship program is considered an asset
Registration with or interest in certification through CFAA (Canadian Fire Alarm Association) is an asset
Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills
Robust attention to detail and commitment to safety
Good communication and teamwork skills
Valid Class 5 Driver's license
Pay: $23.00-$30.00 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate:
Grande Prairie, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
