Position

Damage Prevention Technician (Underground Utility Locator)

Responsibilities
Perform underground utility locates using electromagnetic locating equipment.
Interpret utility maps and construction drawings.
Mark underground utilities in accordance with industry standards.
Complete accurate digital reports, sketches, and photographs.
Communicate professionally with contractors, homeowners, and utility owners.
Maintain company vehicles and equipment.
Work safely while following all company and industry safety procedures.

Qualifications
Valid Class 5 driver's licence with a clean driving record.
Robust attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and manage your schedule.




Basic computer and smartphone skills.

Preferred Qualifications
Previous underground utility locating or damage prevention experience.
Experience with electromagnetic locating equipment and GPS/GIS mapping.
Knowledge of Alberta One-Call and utility locating standards.
CSTS, WHMIS, First Aid, Ground Disturbance Level II, and H2S Alive are considered assets.
