Duties
Operate Class 1 commercial trucks to transport freight over long distances or local routes, adhering to all safety regulations and traffic laws.
Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo.
Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to identify mechanical issues, perform basic automotive repairs if needed, and ensure vehicle safety standards are met.
Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle logs to ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and clients to coordinate schedules and resolve any logistical issues promptly.




Assist with warehouse duties such as freight sorting, inventory checks, and ensuring proper storage practices.
Follow all safety protocols during operation of heavy equipment and while handling freight to prevent accidents or damage.

Experience
Proven experience operating Class 1 commercial trucks in a qualified setting.
Strong knowledge of freight handling procedures and protected driving practices.
Skilled in forklift operation with certification preferred.
Basic automotive repair skills to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues on the road or at the yard.
Familiarity with heavy equipment operation to assist in loading/unloading processes.
Excellent communication skills for clear coordination with team members and clients.
Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting heavy loads and working in various weather conditions.
