Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Excavator Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating excavators to support various mechanical construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of heavy machinery, safety protocols, and efficient operation to ensure project success. Candidates with experience in trenching, blue print reading and other construction-related equipment are highly valued. The position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects in a dynamic workplace, contributing to the development of infrastructure and commercial properties. Candidates that are interested in learning the plumbing trade will be given preference.
Responsibilities
Operate excavators trenching for sanitary and storm drainage
Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety
Assist with pipe installation
Follow project plans and specifications to execute tasks accurately and efficiently
Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies to maintain a protected work environment
Collaborate with team members to coordinate operations and meet project deadlines
Maintain detailed records of work performed and equipment usage for reporting purposes
Skills
Proven experience operating excavators
Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting minor equipment issues and performing basic maintenance
Ability to operate additional construction equipment
Ground disturbance and safe excavation
Solid understanding of construction site safety standards and procedures
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment
Physical stamina to operate heavy machinery for extended periods in various weather conditions
