SJW Decks is hiring a Carpenter’s Helper for the 2026 season. We’re looking for a reliable, motivated individual to assist with railings, deck and fence building through the end of the year. Previous deck-building experience is an asset, but not required. We’re willing to train the right person.

The ideal candidate will have:
1+ years of construction or carpentry experience
Basic hand tools (including a pouch, impact, and drill)
A reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license to get to job sites
A positive attitude and robust work ethic
Willingness to learn and take direction
Strong attention to detail

Responsibilities include:
Assisting the lead carpenter with various tasks on-site
Preparing materials, tools, and equipment for projects




Maintaining a clean and organized work setting
Loading and unloading materials and supplies
Following safety protocols
