Become a Sessional Instructional Assistant at the University of Toronto Mississauga, specializing in Forensic Biology. This role involves leading student labs and enhancing their understanding of forensic science through weekly practicals and lectures.
Ideal candidates will hold a Master's in Biology or a similar qualification along with substantial forensic lab experience. You will teach critical techniques in DNA analysis, while focusing on practical skills in forensic methodologies. Collaboration with students and the Instructor is key to fostering a deep understanding of forensic biology.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate laboratory sessions and student demonstrations
Set up necessary materials for lab classes
Provide guidance and consultation to students
Conduct DNA quantitation and extraction processes
Implement PCR for SNPs and STRs as needed
Requirements:
Advanced degree in Biology or a closely related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a forensic laboratory
Solid background in molecular biology techniques required
Teaching experience in forensic or laboratory settings desired
WHMIS training and court experience is preferred
