Economy Paving is seeking a skilled Excavator Operator to join our growing Earthworks division. In this role, you will be responsible for operating excavators and related heavy equipment to support various construction projects. Your expertise will ensure productive, safe, and precise excavation work, contributing to the successful completion of infrastructure and development initiatives. Responsibilities
Operate excavators safely and efficiently across multiple construction sites, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and project specifications
Use mechanical knowledge to perform routine maintenance checks on excavators and other heavy equipment such as dozers, skidsteers, graders, and pavers
Coordinate with Supervisors and Superintendents to execute excavation plans accurately and on schedule
Conduct pre-operation inspections to identify potential issues with heavy equipment before use
Support site preparation activities by moving earth, debris, or materials using excavators and related equipment
Maintain detailed logs of equipment usage, maintenance schedules,
and operational reports for safety compliance
Experience
Proven experience operating excavators in a construction environment with a solid understanding of heavy equipment operation standards
Mechanical knowledge of construction equipment including dozers, skidsteers, graders, and paving equipment
Familiarity with multiple brands of equipment is preferred but not mandatory
Experience with paving operations and site grading is highly desirable
Valid class 5 driver’s license or equivalent certification
Knowledge of safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation and construction sites is essential
