Contribute to resident well-being at Extendicare's Sherwood Court home in Maple, ON, as a Recreation Programs Aide. This part time role focuses on creating engaging activities and ensuring a supportive setting.
In this position, you'll play a vital role in our recreation team, planning, implementing, and evaluating individual and group activation programs tailored to residents' needs. Your responsibilities include setting up the activity area, transporting residents, and monitoring their condition during programs while staying connected with nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and evaluate individual and group activation programs
• Set up and clean activity areas for resident engagement
• Transport residents to and from programs safely
• Monitor behavior and report changes to supervisors and nursing staff
• Maintain accurate program and resident records
Requirements:
• Completed Recreation and Leisure Services or Gerontology Diploma/Degree
• Experience in program planning for geriatric populations
• Willingness to obtain a current Vulnerable Sector Check
• Solid skills in resident assessments and care planning
• Passion for enhancing the lives of residents
