Empower post-secondary students by joining Durham Rape Crisis Centre (DRCC) as a School Public Educator and Counsellor. This role combines public education and counselling services across Scarborough and Durham Region.
You will play a critical role in educating students about violence prevention, consent, and healthy relationships while delivering counselling services to those impacted by sexual violence. Balancing public education with clinical support, you will develop workshops, resources, and foster collaborations that drive positive change in the community. Engagement with students and stakeholders is key to raising awareness and promoting DRCC’s services.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create and deliver engaging educational initiatives on sexual violence
• Collaborate with campus partners for outreach prospects
• Provide trauma-informed counselling to survivors aged 16+
• Manage advocacy and referral processes for students in need
• Compile program records and statistical data for evaluation
Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years in charity or nonprofit sector
• Experience in gender-based violence support essential
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal abilities
• Dedicated to equity and inclusion in all practices
• Willingness to work adaptable schedule as necessary
