Contribute to student rights advocacy as a Temporary Junior Advocate with UOSU, managing intake and outreach efforts while ensuring academic rights are upheld. This role involves 35 hours/week with a salary of $52,500.
As part of your advocacy duties, you'll handle academic rights cases and participate in awareness campaigns. This position requires effective communication and collaboration with the Centre and UOSU representatives. It's a agile role aimed at supporting the academic rights for the student community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct intake interviews and manage client referrals
• Schedule appointments and oversee the Centre’s calendar
• Draft minutes for various meetings as required
• Maintain accurate client databases and follow up on cases
• Assist in outreach events and educational campaigns
Requirements:
• Undergraduate degree in related field
• Bilingual in both official languages
• Robust communication skills, written and verbal
• Research and advocacy experience preferred
• Knowledge of Ontario Human Rights Code is a bonus
