Join the Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority as a Relief Personal Support Worker. This role offers an opportunity to provide individualized care and support for residents in Long Term Care homes.
As a relief Personal Support Worker, you will contribute to the well-being of clients in Fort Smith, NT, ensuring their independence and dignity. Your responsibilities will include assisting with daily living activities while respecting cultural diversity and personal preferences. You will work closely with Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses to provide quality resident-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide individualized care in accordance with NTHSSA policies
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADL) and IADL
• Contribute to the psychological and social well-being of residents
• Advocate for secure and ethical care settings
• Document findings and evaluate care plans
Requirements:
• Completion of a Personal Support Worker Certification Program
• Minimum 1 year of direct care experience in long-term care
• Ability to complete PSW course within 5 years if uncertified
• Solid understanding of resident-centered care principles
• Commitment to fostering residents' independence
