Join HDR as a Substation Electrical Engineer in Training (EIT) to impact the power industry positively. This pivotal role requires expertise in substation design and cutting-edge thinking.
As part of HDR Engineering's nationally recognized Power Delivery team in Western Canada, you will leverage your two years of experience in protection and control or physical substation design. This opportunity allows you to prepare comprehensive engineering designs for a variety of substation projects, from minor upgrades to extensive recent installations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create engineering drawings and calculations for high voltage substations
• Work alongside Designers to produce accurate project documentation
• Develop one-line diagrams, wiring schematics,
and material lists
• Participate in essential site visits throughout project cycles
• Align designs with industry safety codes and specifications
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum of two years in substation design (P&C; or physical)
• EIT certification and familiarity with Microsoft Office
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Initiative-driven and detail-oriented mindset
