As the Planner, you will primarily be responsible forcreationandassignment of an efficient & effective work assignment planandassistwith theschedule for the Groundsand
Conversion team.
Utilizing a variety of planning tools, forecasts, eventschedules, facility knowledge, and technicalexpertise, the Planner is planning weeksin advance, preparing resourceplansand designing sequenced work activities for the entire REAL campus.
The Planner is an effective resource as the creator, administrator, and owner of work breakdown structures and sequenced work assignments designed for site set up, preparation, and organization, and tear down of REAL mobile & rentable assets leading into and out of every campus event. WHAT YOU WILL DO Collaborates with management in developing andis responsible forexecution ofa rolling annual groundskeeping Work Planning System.
This work planoutlines,quantities, and organizes the job assignments, and resource requirements for all seasonal grounds keeping functions.
Thisincludes, (but not limited to): Snowclearing,removal, andhandling, including roadways, parking areas, andwalk wayentry & exits.
Distributing sand onrecurringbasis for the purpose of mitigating seasonalslip hazards on site, (ie. snow/ice) Spring/seasonal parking lot &road; waysweeping and debris pick up.
Accumulated yard debris pick up Confederation Parkand other green spacelandscaping & general lawn/tree/shrub upkeep.
Distribution & handling of campus signage, barricades, parking embankments, etc..
Provides guidance & organization to the day-to-day Groundsand
Conversion staff by: Providing sequenced work instruction forall aspectsof allactivitiesprogramming, entertainment & sporting events.
Directsworkers asrequiredin support of business unit management.
Plans and reviews overall status of project(s) on an ongoing basis.
In collaboration with Purchasing/Procurement, orders tools and materials to be delivered at specific times,confirmingtonecessary work schedules to meet project timelines.
Ensure all assets that are the responsibility of the Groundsand
Conversion business unit are kept in proper storageandorganization, inappropriate condition/stateof repair.
Communicates with management and event supervisors asrequiredto ensure seamless event mobilization/operation/de-mobilization.
Ensure management, and other stakeholders are promptlyprovidedany relevant documentation from either client, event planning, or authoritiesrelativeto event set up.
Identify,quantifies, andco-ordinateresources to support day-to-day event requirements from an operational support perspective.
Provideassistantto the Assistant
Manager, Grounds and Conversation with the following: Assistsindeterminingstaff scheduling requirementsof casual ∂ timestaffon anas required basis.
Organizing and preparing anyadditionalresource requirements on an as-required basis toassistwiththe eventset up/tear down process.
Assistsin the identification& creationof documented standard work procedures when/where necessary.
Assistsin developing strong teams within the business unit by providing feedback on staff work performance/output, toassist
Assistant Manager in ongoing performance management of team members.
Supports andassistswith work when their expertise isrequired Working closely with internal business units to identify & quantify asset availability for the purposes of maximizing revenue opportunities, and/oradditionalequipment procurement needs on an as required basis.
Provide feedback to management on rental & mobile assetconditionand potential maintenance or replacement requirements.
Raise repair/replacement requirements to the Fixed Assets & Maintenance management team to ensure requirements are efficiently& effectivelyprioritized.
Provides proactive recommendations to management on tooling, equipment, and MRO supply requirements.
Ensure operational safety by: Organizing and preparing anyadditionalresource requirements on an as-required basis toassistwiththe eventset up/tear downprocess.
Establish necessary work zones and traffic control requirements relevant to anyeventmobilization/de-mobilization.
Collaborate as needed in this area with Security/Trafficbusiness units.
Conducts own work as a competent & safe operator of a variety of power tools and mobile assets.
Ensure others do the same.
Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. **This is a Permanent Full-time position and you would be required to work Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.** Wage: $21.78-$28.27 Requirements WHAT IT TAKES Apply today if you meet the following requirements: Completion of Grade 12 education, supplemented by formal training and/or relevant work experience. A valid Heavy Equipment Operator Certification is considered an asset.
Candidates without this certification must be willing to obtain it. 3 years of supervisory experience. 2 years of hands-on experienceoperatingheavy equipment. 5 years of experience working in high-demand, fast-paced environments.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of jobsafe work site practices Possess a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Drivers license and a secure drivers abstract.
Knowledge of relevant constructionlawand building codes.
Excellent organizational& planningskills.
Ability to forecast, prioritize, and schedule multiple work plans simultaneously.
Demonstratedproficiencyfor managing multiple, complex priorities within demandingtimeframes.
Strongtime-managementskills and a proventrack recordof delivering quality results, with attention to details.
Ability tooperatemobileand heavy equipment.
Knowledge & experience of WHMIS program.
Can make quick, on-the-spot, logical decisions based on current events.
Computerproficiencyrequiredincludingadvanced Excel, Word & Outlook.
