About you The Supervisor, Property Accounting is responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial reporting functions for a portfolio ofmercial real estate properties while providing leadership, guidance, and performance management to a team of property accountants.
This role ensures the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, budgeting, CAM and tax recoveries, cash management, and month-end and year-end accounting processes.
The incumbent works closely with Asset Managers, Property Managers, investors, and senior leadership to support operational and strategic business objectives, while maintaining strong financial controls and ensuringpliance with accounting standards andpany policies.
You as a Supervisor, Property Accounting will: Manage, mentor, and assess performance of a team of property accountants.
Respond and prepare analytical reports for Asset Management relating to the properties under your portfolio.
Preparation of analytical reports relating to the billing, payable and cash collection cycle.
Preparation and review of annual final CAM and Tax billing including building a model in excel and lease audits of existing models.
Liaise with investors, where required.
Assist in managing dispositions and acquisitions ofmercial real estate including: entries, reconciliations and onboarding as necessary.
Preparation and review of month-end/recurring journal entries.
Preparation and review of monthly reporting packages (including financial statements).
Preparation and review of quarterly reporting packages (including financial statements, work papers and supporting schedules).
Preparation and review of intepany charge backs.
Preparation and review of annual budget.
Preparation and review of tenant/vendor chargebacks as needed.
Liaise with Property Managers and Asset Managers.
Cash flow management and cash calls when required.

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including Property Managers and Asset Managers.
Ability to review work of other peer accountants in a timely manner and provide coaching and mentoring.
Solid attention to detail with the ability to organize/manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a demanding work environment.
Excellentputer skills with a proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Word, and accounting software packages.
Knowledge of MRI is a major asset.
Experience: 4+ years of experience in real estate accounting space or 2 years auditing experience of real estate clients in major accounting Post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required.
