This position is based at the CBC Toronto location.

This role is a one-yearmaternityleave contract, requiring occasional work on evenings and weekends.

Who we are CBC Music produces multi-platform music programming.

We operate a national radio network, capture and distribute music performance video, create original social content, publish web-based journalism, and partner with JUNOS, Polaris Prize, and more.

Reporting to the Senior Producer, with direction from the Assignment Producer, the Associate Producer will create shareable music content for multiple social platforms, with an emphasis on vertical video (You

Tube Shorts, Tik

Tok, and Instagram).

Key Tasks: Writes, edits, packages, and publishes creative social content tailored for You

Tube, Tik

Tok, and Meta platforms.

Clips and edits short-form video content optimized for You

Tube, Instagram, Tik

Tok and Facebook.

Covers concerts and events on behalf of CBC Music, capturing live social content including performances and artist interviews.

Monitors and leverages platform metrics to continuously optimize content performance.

Proactively manages community engagement, responding to audience inquiries and navigating challenging conversations or complaints.

Monitors social spaces to flag emerging stories, topics, and viral trends for thedigitalteam.

We are looking for a candidate with the following: A university degree or equivalent experience in a related field.

Three years of digital media experience, with a proven track record of managing major social platforms. A deep passion for music, arts, and culture.

Demonstrated expertise in creative ideation, scriptwriting, and on-camera hosting for short-form video.

Advanced digital video editing and graphic design skills (proficiency in Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, or similar tools).

Strong editorial judgment, vetting skills,



and a data-driven approach to social strategy.

The ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.

Strong interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently.

Familiarity with CBCs Journalistic Standards and Practices (JSP) is a strong asset.
