Drive archival initiatives at the Royal BC Museum in Victoria, BC. This permanent Director position offers an prospect to manage collections while engaging diverse communities.
As the Director of Archives, you will create strategies aligned with the museum’s vision. The Royal BC Museum seeks a leader with a Master's degree in Archival Studies and at least five years in archival settings. You will be responsible for ensuring exceptional stewardship of collections while collaborating with Indigenous communities for improved access to critical records.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee archival collections access and stewardship
• Develop public programs and exhibitions
• Facilitate the archives move to PARC Campus
• Engage with Indigenous partners for archival records
• Lead and mentor team members in archives management
Requirements:
• Master’s degree in Archival Studies or Library Science
• Five years of progressive experience in archives
• Solid leadership, collaboration, and project skills
• Experience with cultural partnerships desired
• Must pass a Criminal Records Check
