Work Term: Permanent Work Language: English Hours: 50 to 70 hours per week Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years Horticultural science Urban forestry Work site environment Outdoors At heights Hot Noisy Odours Dusty Extremely cold Work setting Willing to relocate Greenhouse Tasks Hire, supervise and schedule staff Resolve work problems by providing technical advice to increase the value and functionality of a property Schedule work Maintain work records and logs Read blueprints and drawings Advise consumers on the selection and proper use of consumer goods Repair and maintain equipment Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality Supervise nursery and greenhouse workers Sell products on a retail basis Select and purchase merchandise for resale Select and transport material to work area manually or using crane or hoist Prune trees Perform opening and closing activities Perform general farm duties Monitor environment and maintain optimum conditions Monitor equipment to detect wear and damage Monitor inventory levels of issued materials and stocks Monitor movement of supplies and materials between departments Assist in pruning trees, shrubs and plants Plant and move trees Greenhouse cleaning Organize greenhouse and nursery operations Supervision 5-10 people Staff in various areas of responsibility Certificates, licences, memberships,
