POSITION SUMMARY The Substations Superintendent is responsible for planning, managing, and executing all substation construction activities on project sites. This role ensures that work is completed safely, to high-quality standards, on schedule, on budget, and in alignment with contract requirements.



The Substation Superintendent will work closely with and collaborate with the Project Manager, provide leadership to the substation teams and subcontractors, coordinate closely with engineering and other disciplines, and serve as the primary onsite representative for all substation scope execution. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and implement strategies to grow and enhance Barton Malow Canada’s substation capabilities. Lead daily construction execution and ensure project delivery aligns with safety, quality, schedule, contractual and financial targets. Support the development of Installation Work Packages & Inspection Test Plans. Participate in the development of construction contracts and defining scopes of work. Direct and oversee development of subcontractor’s scope of work, sequencing, coordination, scheduling, installation, and logistics related to projects. Monitor self-perform and subcontractor performance including productivity tracking and/or earned value. Provide technical guidance to electrical forepersons, journeypersons, and subcontractors. Manage substation subcontractors’ performance, ensuring scope alignment, quality, and timely execution. Participate in preconstruction planning, including constructability reviews, schedule development, and material planning. Assisting the pre-construction team in the budgeting and scheduling process and in closing all major tendered project opportunities to ensure constructability is taken into
