Your new role This organization is seeking an Engineering Specialist to join its growing engineering team.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this individual will support the design and delivery of air-supported structure projects,bining structural engineering principles with mechanical/HVAC concepts.
This is a highly unique and multidisciplinary engineering role requiring an individual who is eager to learn both the structural and HVACponents involved in air-supported structures.
While candidates with experience in both disciplines are highly desirable, the hiring team is generally more focused on finding someone with a strong structural foundation who is willing to expand their mechanical/HVAC knowledge.
The successful candidate will gradually take ownership of projects, participate in client meetings, conduct site visits, collaborate with internal manufacturing teams,
and ultimately manage projects independently.
Design air-supported structures utilizing structural engineering principles.
Perform HVAC calculations including air leakage calculations and internal pressurization requirements.
Develop preliminary foundation and superstructure designs.
Produce patterning layouts for fabric structures.
Prepare technical specifications and assist with equipment selection.
Conduct site visits, field surveys, and installation assessments.
Collaborate closely with Sales, Manufacturing, and external engineering consultants.
Assist in the preparation and coordination of drawing packages for external review and stamping.
Participate in project meetings and interact directly with clients.
Support troubleshooting and resolution of design and manufacturing challenges.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously through varying stages of delivery.
Work toward independently leading projects and serving as a technical point of contact for clients.
What you''ll need to succeed Minimum 35 years of engineering experience preferred.
Degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Strong structural engineering knowledge is preferred.
Exposure to mechanical engineering or HVAC systems is highly desirable.
Experience working with building construction projects and applicable building codes.
Working knowledge of Canadian building codes and standards, or the ability to learn them quickly.
Proficiency with AutoCAD.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Strongmunication and client-facing skills. EIT designation or working toward P.
Eng. P.
Eng designation considered an asset.
Experience working across multiple engineering disciplines.
Familiarity with construction, building design, or related structural projects.
Exposure to both structural and mechanical engineering environments.
Experience conducting field reviews, site surveys, or construction inspections.
