Ops Engineer Location: Brampton, Ontario, Canada Work Mode: Hybrid Experience: 8+ Years Job Description We are seeking an experienced IELE Environment Management / Dev
Ops Engineer to manage and support enterprise application environments across development, testing, and production support lifecycles.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Dev
Ops, setting management, Linux administration, automation, CI/CD, infrastructure support, and release management.
The role requires close collaboration with development, QA, middleware, database, infrastructure, and release teams to ensure stable, secure, and highly available application environments.
Key Responsibilities Manage and support Development, SIT, UAT, Performance, and Shared Lower Environments.
Perform environment provisioning, configuration management, and deployment activities.
Administer Unix/Linux servers (RHEL, SUSE, Ubuntu) and troubleshoot infrastructure issues.
Develop automation scripts using Bash, Korn Shell, and Python.
Support configuration management and automation using Ansible.
Assist in building, maintaining, and supporting CI/CD pipelines.
Manage source code repositories using Git and support release deployments.
Support VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter environments.
Administer container platforms including Kubernetes and Open
Shift.
Support middleware technologies such as Apache Tomcat and IBM MQ.
Work with Oracle, SQL Server, and DB2 databases for environment validation and troubleshooting.
Monitor application and infrastructure health using Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana, and App
Dynamics.
Coordinate release activities, environment readiness, and deployment schedules.
Lead incident resolution, root cause analysis, problem management, and change implementation.
Coordinate critical incidents, major releases,
and production support activities.
Collaborate with QA, Development, SRE, Middleware, Database, Infrastructure, and Release Management teams.
Prepare environment documentation, operational runbooks, governance reports, and status updates.
Drive process automation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence while ensuring ITIL compliance.
Required Skills & Experience 8+ years of experience in Environment Management, Dev
Ops, Infrastructure, or Production Support.
Strong experience with Unix/Linux administration (RHEL, SUSE, Ubuntu).
Proficiency in Bash, Korn Shell, and Python scripting.
Experience with Ansible for automation and configuration management.
Working knowledge of CI/CD tools and Dev
Ops practices.
Experience with Git version control.
Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter.
Strong understanding of server, storage, and networking fundamentals.
Experience with Kubernetes and Open
Shift.
Knowledge of middleware technologies including Apache Tomcat and IBM MQ.
Familiarity with Oracle, SQL Server, and DB2 databases.
Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana, and App
Dynamics.
Strong experience in Incident, Problem, Change, Release, and Environment Management.
Experience supporting SIT, UAT, Performance, and Shared Lower Environments.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Positive understanding of ITIL processes and Service Management best practices.
