DUTIES The University and Employment Preparation Department at Thompson Rivers University invites applications for a sessional faculty member to teach the following Adult Basic Education courses in Williams Lake Summer 2026: Math 0520-01 Math 0520 is a pre-university level math course equivalent to Foundations 11.
Students study concepts that include basic algebra, rates, linear relations, systems of linear equations and inequalities, quadratic functions, geometry and trigonometry.
Note: This course is taught by the University and Employment Preparation Department QUALIFICATIONS QUALIFICATIONS Masters degree in a relevant field(required) At least one degree in Math or a closely related disciplinerequired, consideration will be given to degrees with a minor or a concentration in math(required)
Teaching Certificate or Instructors Diploma or 5 years teaching experience in ABErequired Demonstrated evidence of scholarly teaching(required) Experience teaching students whose educational,socialand economic backgrounds are diverse, and for whompreviousschool experience may have been challenging(required) Experience teaching ABE(preferred) Skills in building intercultural understanding,empathyand mutual respect (TRC CA 63)(preferred) Experience integrating Indigenous knowledge and teaching methods (TRC CA 62)(preferred) Teaching excellence including developing culturallyappropriate curricula(TRC CA 10)(preferred)
