About Us The Office of Addictions and Mental Health (OAMH) provides provincial leadership, strategic direction, and policy oversight for mental health and addictions services in Nova Scotia, with a clear mandate to advance timely, equitable, and universal access to care . OAMH establishes system priorities, develops policy and strategy, and oversees the effective use of public investments to ensure accessible, high-quality, and evidence-informed services across the province.

Central to its mandate is the planning, funding, and performance oversight of a comprehensive continuum of mental health and addictions services, with a focus on ensuring that all Nova Scotians can access the care they need, when and where they need it.

Working in close partnership with Nova Scotia Health, IWK Health, and community-based organizations , OAMH supports the delivery of coordinated, person-centred services spanning prevention, early intervention, treatment, and recovery.

The Office is responsible for advancing system integration, monitoring performance, and driving continuous improvement to strengthen access, quality, and outcomes.

Through collaboration with partners across government and sectors, OAMH addresses the broader social determinants of health and advances a coordinated, system-wide approach to achieving universal access and improving mental health and addictions outcomes for Nova Scotians .

About Our Opportunity The Office of Addictions and Mental Health (OAMH) is seeking an Administrative Coordinator to lead administrative support for the Insured Services Program (ISP), the Provinces first mental health and addictions insured services program.

This is a part-time position, and OAMH is seeking an individual available to work Full-Time Equivalent (FTE), or hours per week.

The position allows for both in-person and remote work.





This position reports to the ISP Operations Manager.

Role Overview The Administrative Coordinator supports the Province of Nova Scotias efforts to transform the mental health and addictions care system by contributing to the Insured Services Program (ISP).

In this role, the Administrative Coordinator supports effective and efficient ISP operations through strong coordination, clear communication, and the development of materials and reports that keep partners and clinical teams aligned.

The ISP Administrative Coordinator plays a key role in enabling day-to-day functioning by coordinating meetings, support information flow, maintaining documentation, and developing streamlines administrative processes that support clinical and operational teams.

Working closely with the OAMH Senior Strategist, the ISP Operations Manager, and the OAMH ISP leaders, the Administrative Coordinator serves as a central hub for information flow and coordination, helping to sustain momentum and alignment across this key initiative within the Universal Mental Health and Addictions mandate.

Primary Accountabilities Providing comprehensive administrative support to the ISP enabling effective program planning, implementation, and day-to-day operations across current and future services streams.

Coordinating operation and administrative processes in support of ISP delivery, including documentation management, scheduling, correspondence, and tracking of key actions and timelines.





Supporting contract clinicians administration by maintaining records, coordinating communications, assisting with onboarding, drafting and updating program and clinician materials, and facilitating information sharing.

Assisting with progress and evaluation methods that support accountability processes.

Supporting the ISP Operations Manager and OAMH ISP leadership by preparing materials and completing administrative tasks associated with the program.

Ensuring clear and timely communication within OAMH, Nova Scotia Health, and IWK Health ISP partners.

Fostering regular, cross-team collaboration to support priorities.

Acting as a hub for communication to ensure all teams remain informed and aligned on upcoming priorities.

The ISP Administrative Coordinator is accountable to the ISP Operations Manager.

Qualifications and Experience Post-secondary diploma or degree in medical office administration, or a related field, plus 3-5 years of administrative or program support experience.

Robust judgment, professional discretion, and proven ability to work with highly sensitive and confidential information.

Technological proficiency as the role involves considerable online presence and resource access.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Additional Information This role is not eligible for benefits.

Please note: This is an 18-month contract position and is not a civil service appointment.

The successful candidate will be engaged through a contractual arrangement and will not be an employee of the Province of Nova Scotia or a member of the Nova Scotia Civil Service.

Salary Range: $25,;- $31,;Annual calculated through an hourly billing arrangement and prorated at a FTE ( hours per week).
