The Opportunity Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this position provides direction for the Stock Prep triangle to ensure the safe and optimal performance of all equipment and that quality output meets or exceeds both short- and long-term objectives.
Whatyou''lldo Maintenance Planning and Scheduling Develop detailed maintenance job plans for mill equipment, including mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation tasks.
Define scope of work, labor requirements, tools, materials, permits, and estimated durations for planned jobs.
Build andmaintainweekly and shutdown maintenance schedules in coordination with Operations and Maintenance Supervisors.
Prioritize work orders based on safety, production impact, asset criticality, and regulatory requirements.
May berequiredto support maintenance planning during outages, shutdowns, or extended maintenance windows.
Work Order Management Review andvalidatework requests to ensure completeness and accuracy before planning.
Ensure work orders include clear task descriptions, safety precautions, lockout/tagout requirements, and quality standards.
Close completed work orders withaccuratelabor, material, and failure data to support reliability analysis.
Coordination and Communication Act as the primary liaison between Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, and Stores for equipment maintenance activities.
Coordinate planned outages, shutdowns, and maintenance windows to align with production requirements.
Communicate schedule changes, job readiness, and execution risks to stakeholders.
Materials and Resource Planning Identifyand pre-stage required spare parts, consumables, and special tools prior to job execution.
Work with the Storeroom and Procurement teams to ensure critical spares availability.
Support optimization of spare parts inventory for critical equipment and systems.
Reliability and Continuous Improvement Support reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), preventive maintenance (PM), and predictive maintenance (PdM) programs.
Analyze maintenance history and downtime data toidentifyrecurring issues and improvement opportunities.
Participate in root cause failure analyses (RCFA) related to equipment failures.
Standardize job plans and maintenance procedures to improve efficiency, safety, and reliability.
Safety and Compliance Ensure all planned workcomplies withmill safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, confined space requirements, and environmental regulations.
Incorporate safety, quality, and regulatory requirements into all job plans.
Support audits, inspections, and compliance activities asrequired.
Experience Technical diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Maintenance, ora relateddiscipline preferred.
Equivalentcombinationof education and relevant maintenance planning experience may be considered. 37 years of maintenance experience in a pulp and paper mill or other heavy industrial manufacturing workplace.
Experience planning maintenance for rotating equipment, process systems, and plant utilities preferred.
Previousexperience as a Maintenance Planner, Maintenance Supervisor, or Reliability role is an asset.
Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical maintenance practices for industrial equipment.
Proficiencywith CMMS/EAM systems (e.g., SAP, Maximo, JD Edwards, Infor).
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs;, electrical schematics, and OEM manuals.
Working knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a unionized and/or multi-disciplinary environment.
Detail-oriented with a strong focus on safety, quality, and asset reliability.

Hiring
Range : $73, 000 - $91,000 per year. A candidates experience and knowledge may be factored into the pay a candidate receives for this position.
