In this permanent role, the Urban Parks Naturalist reports to the Manager of Parks Technical Services. You will oversee tactical implementations of naturalization processes and deliver ecological programming that enhances urban biodiversity. Collaboration with city departments and indigenous communities is essential to foster stewardship and meet strategic environmental goals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate urban forestry and biodiversity initiatives
• Develop operational plans with transparent performance indicators
• Engage with stakeholders on parks and naturalization programming
• Conduct wildlife interactions assessments
• Create insightful reports and briefings for leadership
Requirements:
• Degree in Environmental Planning, Landscape Architecture, or similar
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
• Knowledge of native plant species and environmental stewardship
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Class 5 Driver’s License required
