David Hoy Elementary – 21 hours per week (schedule to be determined). Continuing position starting as soon as possible.
Summary
The Solid Start Facilitator will concentrate on key aspects of family, literacy, numeracy, parent support and education, stages of early childhood development and community resource sharing. The intention of the program is that parents and caregivers will participate alongside their children in a purposeful, play‑based environment.
Qualifications
- Completion of Grade 12 (Dogwood Certificate)
- Certificate in Early Childhood Education
- Community Care Facilities Branch BC License to practice
- Valid Child Safe First Aid Certificate
- 6 months experience as a licensed Early Childhood Educator working with children in the 0-5 age range and their caregivers
- WHMIS 2015 Certificate and familiarity with WorkSafeBC safety procedures
Application Process
1. Complete/update your Make A Future portfolio,
including contact information for at least two professional references (current/former supervisors).
2. Upload a copy of your most recent Cover Letter and Resume, showcasing your relevant education and experience.
3. Upload a copy of the applicable certificates/documents as indicated in the Qualifications section of this posting:
- Driver abstract (Personal Driving Record) may be obtained online.
- If you do not have a WHMIS 2015 certificate from the last 12 months, you can complete the course online.
- Ensure applications are submitted via Make A Future; emailed applications are not accepted.
- The successful applicant will be required to obtain a Criminal Record Check through the CRRP (online). A BC Services Card Account is recommended.
