The Centre for Trades and Technologies is seeking a highly motivated, organized individual with excellent communication skills to instruct in our Pre-Employment and Apprenticeship Electrician programs. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for delivering excellent theoretical and hands-on instruction and curriculum maintenance using Lethbridge Polytechnic resources.
Position Details
- Instruct various essential portions of the program (Lecture, Lab, CBAT, Dual Credit, etc..)
- Promote the program and facilitate recruitment of students
- Manage class schedules
- Track student progress and implement interventions as needed
- Content development and ongoing updates and maintenance
- Use canvas learning management system and Mobius testing programs
- Answer and respond to in-person, telephone, and email inquiries
- Purchase of materials and equipment
- Provide reports and updates to the Associate Dean as needed
- Establish and maintain critical relationships with key partners and stakeholders
- Administrative tasks as needed
Required Qualifications
- Alberta Journeyman Electrician Certification, with a minimum of five years’ experience in the trade
- Strong diagnostic skills
- Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software plus an aptitude to learn recent software applications and systems
- Self-motivated and ability to work positively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous formal and/or informal teaching experience is considered an asset
- Red Seal Certification is considered an asset
- Master Electrician Certificate is considered an asset
Salary
Commensurate with education and experience according to the current Faculty Collective Agreement.
