Senior Accountant (CPA) | Public Accounting

I'm currently partnering with a well-established, growing public accounting firm seeking to add an experienced Senior Accountant (CPA) to its team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with sophisticated client files, taking ownership of engagements, mentoring junior staff, and being involved in advisory work beyond traditional compliance.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll manage a diverse portfolio of clients while working closely with managers and partners on a variety of accounting, assurance, and tax engagements, including:

- Preparing complex Compilation and Review Engagement working papers and financial statements
- Preparing complex personal, corporate, and trust tax returns
- Preparing GST/HST returns and information slips (T4, T5, T3, T5018, etc.)
- Communicating directly with the Canada Revenue Agency regarding reviews, audits, assessments, objections, and client inquiries
- Analyzing financial information, identifying issues, and developing practical solutions before escalating matters to management
- Assisting with tax planning, estate planning, business reorganizations, pipeline transactions, amalgamations, and other advisory projects
- Researching and interpreting Canadian tax legislation along with accounting and assurance standards
- Coaching, mentoring, and supporting junior team members




- Contributing ideas to improve internal processes and enhance client service

What My Client Is Looking For

- CPA designation (completed)
- Strong public accounting experience in Canada
- Experience leading Compilation and Review Engagements
- Solid knowledge of Canadian personal and corporate taxation
- Comfortable dealing directly with the Canada Revenue Agency
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Someone proactive, solutions-oriented, and who enjoys taking ownership of client work
- A collaborative professional who enjoys mentoring others and contributing to a positive team culture
