Job Summary & Key Responsibilities The department welcomes applicants for PTA in Biol 2003, Animal Diversity, in the Fall term of 2026, September 8th to December 20th.

This course surveys the diversity of forms and functions of invertebrate and vertebrate animals.

The course takes a phylogenetic approach, exploring the evolutionary relationships and key transitions between metazoan taxa.

Examples of the different life forms are introduced.

The candidate will work closely with the course coordinator and be responsible for: Delivery and clean up of two 3-hour laboratory sessions per week, one on Friday from 1:30- 4:30, and a second of the candidates choosing.

Attendance at the weekly TA meetings on Friday Morning from 9:30- 10:30 Attendance at the three exam sessions, two in class from 8:30- 9:30 am and one during the regularly scheduled exam period Helping with marking of student assignments.

During the laboratory sessions the candidate will work with and supervise a Teaching Assistant.

The candidate is not responsible for any course coordination, or course development.

Qualifications/Requirements of Position Qualified applicants should have a or be currently enrolled in a program and some experience with teaching,



student supervision, and animal diversity.

Salary Range/Pay Rate Per CUPE Collective Agreement Additional Information All offers of employment as a Part time Academic are conditional upon sufficient student enrolment in the course and approval by the University.
