Become a Supportive Housing Specialist with Good Shepherd's Dorothy Day Place, fostering dignity and self-determination in a transformative environment. Collaborate with individuals facing homelessness through a trauma-informed, inclusive approach.
This temporary full time role, working Tuesday to Saturday across wide-ranging shifts, calls for compassion and adaptability. You will provide supportive counseling and help formulate individualized care plans while participating in community integration initiatives. Emphasizing cultural safety and anti-oppression principles, your impact will resonate deeply within the community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Establish care plans in partnership with participants
• Provide education on trauma and mental health
• Participate in complex care planning meetings
• Foster a welcoming environment for residents
• Adhere to health and safety regulations
Requirements:
• Minimum 1-year experience in social services
• Knowledge of anti-racism and harm reduction frameworks
• Familiarity with Hamilton's housing sector
• CPR certification or willingness to be certified
• Valid Ontario Driver's License (G2) is an asset
