OVERVIEW The role of the Unit Clerk will perform all elements of clerical duties including data entry, booking appointments, registration, and maintaining mandatory statistical information for patient care delivery in the Surgical Center.

The Unit Clerk, will be expected to interact with patients and their families in a professional and courteous manner and work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team.

The Registered Practical Nurse role will be located at the TEHN Surgical Centre (located at 20 Wynford Dr.).

The incumbent may be assigned to Michael Garron Hospital (825 Coxwell Avenue) as required. EDUCATION - Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent required. - Training / certificate within the last 2 years from an accredited college /university related to office administration/office program preferred. QUALIFICATIONS - 2 years of relevant recent experience working as a Unit Clerk, - required - Knowledge of medical terminology required. - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written. - Computer literacy required; demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. - Demonstrates competency in keyboarding skills required. - Demonstrated proficiency in Power

Chart and SAP/SRM required. - Demonstrates tact, diplomacy, and discretion in matters related to patients, staff, and hospital affairs. - Able to work independently as well as within a team workplace. - Demonstrated excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and time management skills. - Good work and attendance record required. -- Other duties as assigned. - All employees of Michael Garron Hospital (MGH), a division of Toronto East Health Network (TEHN)
