Instrumentation Posted date: Role The Instrumentation Technologist provides hands-on technical support for the installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control systems on EPCM and consulting projects.

This role works closely with Instrumentation & Controls Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Project Managers, contractors, and vendors to ensure instrumentation systems are installed, tested, and commissioned in accordance with design intent, specifications, and project requirements.

The Instrumentation Technologist is frequently engaged in field and site-based activities, supporting projects through construction, commissioning, and start-up phases.

Areas of Accountability Instrumentation Installation & Field Support Provide on-site technical support during construction, installation, and commissioning of instrumentation systems Support instrument installation, tubing and impulse line routing, hook-up, and terminations Review installed instrumentation for compliance with drawings, specifications, and standards Assist with resolution of field issues, RFIs, and deficiencies Testing, Commissioning & Start-up Support Perform or support instrument loop checks, calibration, and functional testing Support FAT, SAT, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities Assist with troubleshooting instrumentation and signal issues during start-up Document test results and support commissioning close-out documentation Instrumentation Design Support & Documentation Support I&C; Engineers with preparation and review of instrument data sheets, indexes, and I/O lists Review and mark up P&IDs;, loop diagrams,



and wiring drawings Update documentation to reflect field changes and as-built conditions Coordination & Communication Interface with instrument vendors, contractors, system integrators, and site personnel Coordinate with electrical and controls teams to support integrated system delivery Communicate field progress, issues, and risks to the project team Qualification Requirements Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering Technology or a related technical discipline Typically 5+ years of experience supporting instrumentation and controls systems on EPCM or industrial projects Strong hands-on experience with instrument installation, calibration, testing, and loop checks Familiarity with pressure, temperature, flow, level, analytical instruments, and control valves Ability to read and interpret P&IDs;, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, and specifications Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently in a field environment Willingness to travel and work on-site as required by project needs What Catch Offers Comprehensive benefits package, including Health
