Summary:

The Warehouse Lead Hand will assist in directing and coordinating the activities of the warehouse, and will be accountable for the safe handling, accurate shipping and receiving of finished product and raw materials. This position involves all aspects of the warehouse department, dedication to continuous improvement, and safe work procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Responsible for ensuring all products are received, stored and shipped at acceptable temperatures as per our standards.

· Participate in inventory activities along with the team.

· Monitor and enforce compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures and quality and safety standards within the team.

· Serve as the key point of contact between departments and the team, facilitating clear and effective communication as required.

· Ensure all customer orders are shipped efficiently and completed on the scheduled shipment dates.

· Follow up on the manager’s daily instructions and provide support and guidance to team members in their tasks and responsibilities.

· Perform daily equipment checks, including warehouse maintenance, freezer conditions, and pallet requirements and to report any deficiencies or service requirements to the manager.

· Provide coverage for any shift absences or unplanned time off as required.

· Identify and address safety hazards; maintain strict adherence with Health & Safety Program.





· Ensure that all Food safety standards are adhered to as per the GMP and Food safety Program.

· Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.

Knowledge & Skills Preferences:

· One to three years’ experience in a warehouse/distribution setting, preferably with a refrigerated food product with a limited shelf life.

· Ability to work in a freezer environment (-40c); moving in and out of the freezer and warehouse areas throughout your shift.

· Ability to read, write, follow instruction, and communicate in English.

· Forklift experience is required.

· Strong attention to proper work procedures, food safety, and working safely in a production setting.

· A willingness to collaborate and contribute ideas to improve team performance.

· Experience using an RF scanner, computer systems to manage inventory, and ERP system is an asset.

· Experience working with inventory management system.

· Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

· Attention to detail and ability to follow through and resolve outstanding issues efficiently.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills; collaborative and encouraging approach.

· Self-motivated; is accountable and takes ownership of the role.

· Flexibility to work other shifts, overtime, weekend when/if required.

· Strong analytical skills and numerical aptitude.

· Results oriented with a proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
