JOB SUMMARY:

The Accounts Payable Clerk processes invoices for payment and performs general clerical accounting duties.

JOB TASKS :
Receives invoices from suppliers; processes for payment with a three-way match (invoice, purchase order, packing/receiving slip)
Collects and sorts receiving slips daily
Posts accounts payable invoices in accounting system




Follows up on receiving issues such as missing slips or errors
Follows up on purchase order issues such as wrong quantities, missing POs, etc.
Assists with processing ACH’s, EFT’s, and cheques for weekly payments to suppliers
Completes month end accrual reports and investigates discrepancies
Aids with month end accounts payable reconciliation
Assists with filing copies of cheques and back-up documents
Acts as backup for other accounts payable functions

COMPETENCIES:
Proficient in the use of Excel software program
Solid time-management and organizational skills; able to multi-task effectively
Demonstrate strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy; detail-oriented

REQUIRMENTS :
High School diploma, or equivalent

PREFFERED:
Completion of post-secondary basic accounting course
