Teacher

East River Colony School, West of Rumsey, Alberta.

Position: Full‑time teacher starting August 26, 2026. The successful candidate will deliver the Alberta curriculum to students in Kindergarten through Grade 9 in a multi‑grade classroom setting.

Responsibilities:

- Deliver the Alberta curriculum to students in K‑9.
- Engage students across a range of ages and abilities.
- Create a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment that encourages curiosity, personal growth and a lifelong love of learning.
- Apply strong instructional practices and effective teaching strategies.
- Integrate technology into learning.
- Communicate effectively with students, families and the school community.
- Provide solid classroom management.
- Collaborate with colleagues and build meaningful relationships with students, families and the school community.

Qualifications:





- Training and experience in English as a Second Language (ESL).
- Comfortable teaching multiple grades and subject areas.
- Ability to differentiate instruction and foster student success.
- Strong instructional practices and effective teaching strategies.
- Experience teaching in a Hutterite Colony school setting would be considered an asset.
- Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate.
- Current Criminal Record Check and Child Intervention Check satisfactory to PLRD.
